THE PROJECT

Yewtree Farm Energy Storage Facility is a battery energy storage project, set to store and release clean, renewable energy to the UK electricity grid. This project will contribute to the UK’s target of reaching net-zero carbon emissions by 2050 and reduce our reliance on fossil fuels such as oil and gas.

The proposed development infrastructure will cover an area of approximately 1.5 hectares, contained within existing field boundaries.

Typical components of an energy storage facility include:

  • Battery Storage Units (BSUs);
  • Power Conversion Systems (PCS);
  • Acoustic and Security Fencing;
  • CCTV cameras with associated lighting columns;
  • DNO Control building;
  • Customer control building and Switchroom;
  • Spare Parts Container;
  • Water storage tanks;
  • Drainage retention basin and lagoon;
  • Parking;
  • Access tracks;
  • Landscaping.
